My dog is not a gun dog, can I train?

I don’t have a gun dog breed, can I still train with you?

Yes, depending on what your training and behaviour requirements are. Training should be a priority with any breed of dog.

As a non gun dog breed you just will not be able to take part in The Pet Gundog training program. Other training programs are available to teach obediance and manners.

Is my dog too young/ old?

You are training your dog every time you interact with him, no matter his age.

The Pet Gundog training program is designed for young dogs 6 months and over.

This is to ensure care and consideration for the development of an immature physique.

Older dogs are also welcome to start Pet Gundog training, a new challenge is often enjoyed by an older dog. Consideration will also be given to any potential physical issues that can affect older animals.

Safety for our dogs is paramount.

How do I book and pay?

Payment for both group and 1:1 training is taken at the time of booking via bank transfer.

Your booking is not confirmed until payment is made.

If no payment has been made 5 days before your provisional booking then the space will be released for rebooking by other clients.

So don’t hesitate, get booked and paid and lets get on with the fun part!

Should cancellation by myself need to happen I will rearrange another time convenient to us both. Weather can cause short notice cancellation.

What do I need to bring?

I will provide most of the ‘gun dog’ equipment we will be using in lessons.

All you need to bring with you is yourself, your dog maybe a favorite toy and/ treats and poo bags!

Over time you may well build your own collection of equipment like, a game bag and dummies as this will be useful at home to train your dog but it is not essential to start one of our classes.
